Many ferrets here cannot be rehomed for various reasons, either behavioural, medical or to help us with PR and fundraising events.
We thought you might like to meet them!
Nancy and Flipper
Nancy and Flipper are both about 6 years old. Flipper came to us as a kit with a broken back. She scoots around beautifully and is a very naughty happy ferret! She has always bounced on her front legs when she wants attention or for a door to open, as you can see above. She is one of lifes characters and everyone adores her.
Nancy is Flippers partner in crime and suffers with adrenal cancer. She has an implant in to help with the symptoms. She is very loving, and great fun.
They are here because of their medical needs.
Unfortunately Nancy is now no longer with us.
Nasty and Nice
These poley lads are now about 6 years old and have been with us since they were kits. They were dumped in a box in a skip. Nasty in particular is the one ferret whose reputation goes before him and will bite for fun! We hoped he may settle in his older years but theres no sign of that yet! They have been with us for so long it would be unfair to rehome them now.
Jan 2013, unfortunately both of thes old timers passed away. RIP guys, its the end of an era xx
Scooby, Falcor and Simba
These three ferrets all came in as strays, with the exception of Falcor who was a gift from Candy from Wear Valley Ferret Rescue. They are all about 5 years old now and have gelled as a group for so long we couldnt split them. They are very good at doing PR and educational work so they earn their keep by coming and meeting the public!
Brett
Brett is one on his own. He was handed into the rescue almost two years ago as his owner had to work abroad. He was found by his owner as a kit, being kicked by a group of lads. The chap took him in and looked after him for about year before having to travel. Brett does not tolerate any other ferret, cat or dog and has been known to chase a greyhound! His incredible nature makes him great for taking to shows where children are in abundance as he has NEVER nipped anyone at all. Hes quite happy just sleeping in arms (doesnt matter who it is!) He remains our house ferret as he really needs lots of human interaction and company, and easy access to the rubbish bin which he raids at every opportunity. He is loved by everyone who meets him.
Poor Brett died this year, we miss him so much.
